Mark 12:1b
A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a wine press, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and left on a journey.
Today we see the parable of the tenant farmers who not only didn't give back to the landlord what was rightly his, they killed his servants and even his own son. If you are like me you have probably heard this parable many times and thought to yourself "Jesus is really putting the screws to those chief priests, elders and scribes". But is he only talking to them? How am I treating the vineyard that God loaned to me? Am I giving the talents God gave me back to him? Am I treating my family with the love, compassion and grace that God has given me? I think we all have at least one part of our lives where we can look and honestly say "I am being a bad tenant". Today let's take an honest look at our lives and see where we can do a better job of giving back to God what is rightfully his in the first place.
