When was the last time you read a book or movie review? You find them using lots of words like captivating, spellbinding, enthralling, and enticing. Our attention is valuable. It's so valuable that advertising and PR agencies get paid a lot of money to draw our attention to their products. But are these things that are vying for our attention really worthwhile? Looking away from the things of this world and focusing our attention on eternity is not an easy task. It's hard enough just giving God an hour on a Sunday morning. We feel like there are so many other things we could be doing with our time. Even back in the days of the early Church, it was hard to get us to focus on eternity instead of the things of this world. Let's make an effort today to look away from our worldly pursuits and give some of our valuable attention to Jesus.
Can I find just five more minutes for prayer today?

He is also the step-father of two boys, Liam and Graham. Davis and his wife Abby are parishioners at Nativity in Brandon.
