He who does justice will live in the presence of the Lord.
I just lived through a traveling nightmare. A cancelled flight with no way home for days. As I stood in the Quebec City airport, several thoughts zoomed through my head: I'm going to have to sleep in one of these chairs, thank God my kids aren't with me, I didn't bring any more clothes, Canada is really far from Florida.
It's unsettling to be stranded so far from home. I'm definitely a homebody. For most of us at some point in our lives we've had to adjust to being in a new place - either college, military service, moving to a new town, or maybe just an extended stay away from home. Maybe right now your kids are away at camp or a mission trip with church.
That's the incredible thing about living a life of faith. You are never far from God. Even if your life is packed in cardboard moving boxes, or you don't know another soul in town or where the nearest grocery store is, God tells us that if we are living righteously, we are close to him. And ultimately, a life of faith leads to eternal life with him where we will never have to sleep in an airport chair!
Lord, show us how to live a life seeking justice, mercy and righteousness, so we can forever be in your presence.
