"Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." Ephesians 2:21-22
We, like many other Floridians, are installing a pool. The process started in August. Yes. 11 months ago. I am praying fervently that at the time you're reading this, the pool is complete. We have grown much in patience! I had no idea what building a pool required, but as I've watched each step happen I've come to appreciate what's gone on under the surface.The roots were pulled out, the frame was reinforced, the footer was set -- all the things that will be out of sight while we splash, play, or float. I want our pool to be a place where love, joy, and laughter happen. And I can plan the perfect playlist, provide cold beers, and set up a shady umbrella, but if all the stuff under the surface isn't done right, none of that is going to matter. So today I'm grateful for the things in my life that were built solidly, with Christ holding them together: My parent's marriage, my Catholic school, my husband, the ministry of Spirit FM, my parish community. They have all poured into me and enabled me to proclaim Christ to others, and now I'll thank God for them every time I swim!
