Waiting and waiting and counting down! Every year during Advent, we see many ways to count the days down until that final week, with calendars and some holiday time hopefully wisely spent remembering the reason for all of this. While we carefully plan, let's not forget that people in Old Testament times spent years and years studying the sky for signs, praying and waiting for their promised Messiah. Many eyes were "opened" spiritually with the birth of Jesus. We celebrate when the wise men who traveled from afar changed their courses to follow a star and pay this humble couple's Son homage. Are we that ready?
This Advent, as we ready for the new year, let's try to spend time reflecting on how we can best live our lives out following the call of God for us. It can be as easy as reflecting on how we spend our time, or looking for some reading that will encourage us in our walk.
