Romans 8:1
Brothers and sisters: Now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed you from the law of sin and death.
As we enter November, we will see the daily readings taking on a sense of urgency and views toward end of times and end of our own earthly lives. If we read these verses and feel called to prayer, let's remember that if we find it difficult to concentrate in prayer as our minds think of this and that, I will say you are not alone.
Don't judge yourself or be too critical if taking time to sit and pray takes effort. "Why can't I pray?" or Why can't I sit still?" are common complaints I hear from those with good intentions. Don't force answers to those questions. Still those voices with gentle words of love for yourself. God loves you and does not judge you harshly if you find it difficult to pray. It is the effort that will be rewarded as we seek to unite our hearts with the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
