It's one thing to ask yourself "What Would Jesus Do?". It's a totally different thing to ask "What would Jesus see" if he was standing next to me right now? When I was a youth minister I asked my teens how they would behave if Jesus was sitting next to them while they were out on a date. They always looked at me like I was crazy! I had a bunch of wallet size prayer cards with a image of Jesus on it that I would pass out every now and then. I told them to take Jesus along next time they went out.
I dare say we could use that little reminder. Would we be happy to have Jesus sitting next to us while we navigate Tampa traffic or interact with our coworkers? Are we courageously living the gospel? Or are we bad mouthing our neighbors behind their back? Today we learn that the Father and Son have already made their dwelling with us. So, like it or not he is with us right now. Maybe we need to put a picture in our wallet to remind us of that!
Dear God, grant us the courage to ask "What Would Jesus See?" when we interact with those around us.
