A listener called the children's show yesterday, the Kid's Kingdom, who grew up listening and now has a family of her own. She and her husband have several children and she had nieces and nephews in the house too. They asked for their favorite songs and we had alot of fun! Later, I was cooking with one of my children and had three others ask me about this and that and at the same time I wondered where my daughter who just got her driver's license was, and all that reminded me of how managing a busy house can be quite challenging. Along with the fun times and games, sometimes the sly remarks come from out of nowhere, and oh those grudges that for some reason just won't go away can appear too. We need to remember to pray when that happens.
The Church celebrates the Trinity today, an awesome example of a perfect relationship among three persons in one God. The example is for our families because we can ask God for the grace to be that united, so that while maintaining our unique personalities, we could also always be encouraging and loving to each other. As a family we are individual members, yet one unit. Let's make the sign of the cross, several times this day, and pray for unity not only within our families but also pray for unity and peace within our larger social groups like our work group, friend group, and even our community group.
