How quickly does God move? I suppose the answer is - as fast as He wants to. When I read this familiar story from Exodus, I wondered how much time it took the water to move so the Isrealites could make their way on the dry ground and cross the Red Sea. I can imagine that no matter how quickly the path became clear and safe, it wasn't fast enough for the Isrealites who had the Egyptian army coming after them.
It can often feel like the bad guys are closing in faster than the way out is opening up, but God has perfect timing. If He has you waiting for that first step it's because He has something for you where you are. It might just be growth in the waiting. It might be so you can feel that strong wind blowing and see that water move.
