The Fog

By Elle
Last week it was foggy every day in the Tampa Bay area...

A holy day has dawned upon us.
Come, you nations, and adore the Lord.
Today a great light has come upon the earth.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Last week it was foggy every day in the Tampa Bay area.  Right at dawn, the fog rolled in from the bay where I watched it, and it was so dense that it was difficult to see more than a few yards ahead.  The outdoor vehicles were damp with the mist and I spoke with one person who mentioned her husband took her to her work and she described how he was so tense during the drive, because he wasn't happy with the lack of visibility.  I even saw a cyclist dressed absentmindedly in all black, probably trying to get to work, and perhaps unaware of how the lack of color of his clothes made him significantly less visible on the roadway.  I prayed for him and wondered if he ralized what a risk he was taking.  But the sun did finally shine through, and as it broke through the fog, everything became more colorful.

How will we remember this past year?   With a fogginess as we lived through unexpected events like Hurricane Irma, and unpredictable political events, or will we look back on these times clearly and in focus.  Let's consider how important it is to go into this year with a clear spiritual focus, and make sure to spend time praying on the certainty of what we do know, worshipping and praising God in song and prayer.  God loves you and me, and the sun so far has been able to break through any fog, after a hurricane, and in its time, it shines for us all.
