A few years ago I met a guy named Tim Timmons. In 2001 Tim was diagnosed with terminal cancer and told he would be lucky to live another 5 years. Eighteen years later he is still living with cancer. When I asked Tim what it was like to live with that kind of thing hanging over his head he answered me with a question. "What would your life be like if you had the courage to believe in a God who still does miracles?"
In today's gospel we are reminded that Jesus is simply looking for our belief in Him. Tim spends every day of his life courageously living the Gospel message that Jesus is still alive and performing miracles. After my encounter with Tim I had some tough questions for myself.
What would my life look like if I had to courage to believe that God could do anything?
God, grant us the grace to believe that you still perform miracles in our lives.
