Tobit 13:6
This is part of Tobit's song of praise includes the invitation to turn back to God with all of your heart, and he mentions the rewards and benefits that will come with the return to God. It is a beautiful prayer if you have the chance to pray with it. When I am overwhelmed by the day to day "crises" that preoccupy me, it is so important that I remember to give glory to God in every circumstance.
I call it "keeping that bird's eye persepctive", when you need a break from your day to day problems, take a minute and pray. Look around today at the animals and plants and think about how by their very existence they give glory to God. God made all the natural world, and we should not only recognize our brothers and sisters, every one of them, but also our way that we care for them and the ways that we care for our common home, this planet earth with all of its beauty.
