"I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world." John 16:33
We all have troubles don't we? I raised two children with a chronic illness, Cystic Fibrosis, that eventually took my oldest child's life. I'll tell you right now the default in a situation like that is to worry. But a life of worry is not the life God wants for us. Courageously living the Gospel means more than just telling people about Jesus. It means believing that God has a plan for your life. It means living your life like you believe in that plan! When I decided to take these words of Jesus to heart, I began to live my life courageously and without worry. I can honestly say that I was able to live every moment with my daughter to its fullest. I know that Jesus conquered death and that one day I will see her again. Because of this I have the peace that can only be found in Jesus. What trouble is the world sending your way today?
Dear Lord, give us the grace to find our peace in you.
