I am blessed in many ways. One is through friendship. I just had a girls beach weekend with old friends - with one I'm coming up on 25 years of friendship. I also have a great group of friends that have come into my life in the past few years through my women's group at church. The thing that makes all of these friendships so wonderful is that I feel like I can be myself, something that is hard to come by today. I can say that I have some wonderful friends whom I really trust.
I trust that they will still want to be my friend even when they don't see the best side of me, that they will keep my secrets and insecurities, and that they want to see us all grow into better versions of ourselves.
In today's first reading, God tells Moses what He wants the people to know about Him. Why does he say he is abounding in fidelity? Why does he want them to know he can be trusted? God doesn't need anything from them. But when you trust someone fully, whether it's your girlfriends or your spouse, you have permission to fully be yourself, to not hold back and pretend to be something that the world tells you you should be.
You can trust that God's love is unconditional and His promises are good - so go be the you He created you to be.
