Spontaneous Kindness

By Elle
As we all continue to recover and rebuild after last weekend's surreal events

Beloved:

This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance:

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners

Paul's first letter to Timothy Chap 1:15

As we all continue to recover and rebuild after last weekend's surreal events, let us remember that our Christianity is not about "me and Jesus" alone.  Jesus came to save all of us, you and me and him and her.  Jesus calls us to "love our neighbor" and when that opportunity arises, sometimes it's a spontaneous gesture. There was a need this week from our friends at Trinity Cafe at their two locations to serve the hot meals to their regulars. With the aftermath of the weather, some of the regular adult volunteers were tending to their own needs. Through SpiritFM, we were able to put the word out, and several high schoolers, who have been out of school all week while their high schools were being cleaned, really stepped up to help serve meals to those in need, including families and children who would normally get their meals from their schools.

Let's try to do something for a neighbor, and not expect a thanks or high five or recognition from them. Let's just do something out of the goodness of our hearts that will help someone.  Then we can look up towards heaven and know that God watches us, knows our needs, and we can give praise and honor to Him who alone is worthy of all of our praise and honor.
