Sharing Jesus

By Elle
I wonder what would have happened if Mary had not shared that news with the disciples that day.

Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples,
"I have seen the Lord,"

John 20:18

I wonder what would have happened if Mary had not shared that news with the disciples that day.  Surely the word would have gotten out that Jesus, raised from the dead, back from the grave, was among the living again, preaching and teaching.  What if Mary had kept that news to herself?  There are times in my life when I have not spoken about what it means to be Catholic and Christian.  While we can examine the motives for lack of action another time, for now let's look at these consequences of Mary Magdalene's quick action. She immediately shared what she had seen and heard at the grave site, and shared with the apostles' joy at the Good News that she carried in her heart.  Her sharing led to including the discilpes who then told others and there the news spread far and wide of the Risen Jesus.

There are ways we can share the Good News that include bringing a friend to church, sharing a Christian song with someone, and even asking questions of a family member to find out if they will share their spiritual moments.  Jesus came to save all of us not a select few of us, so the more we share the news of His love for us, the story that His conqered sin and death, and that by His resurrection we all have the chance for eternal life, the more we will allow His love to work through us to reach more souls.
