Have you been to a free event where no one showed up? A concert or a free meal? I remember years ago when a young rock band played for free one afternoon at a church event, and the weather was terrible. It was so badly raining and thundering, that less than twenty people showed up for the concert! But those that showed up had a really fun time, got autographs, and the band played extra long sets and added some songs for fun. They made the best of their situation, and I was very impressed.
God offers His love to everyone, and following the call that He has for each of us means that we may run into some terrible times and very difficult situations, but we will have our God of Love as our refuge and source of strength. A life well lived and lived in grace with good works is a life to strive for. Like that rock band, who played their finest even with less than twenty people attending, let us try to lead our lives seeking to glorify God in all that we do. For God, it is not necessarily how many people we reach or preach to, but how we live our lives in response to the call He has for us.
