Peter, you gotta love him!
Jesus said to him in reply,
"Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
Matthew 16:17
Peter, you gotta love him! He is so like all of us is he not? Here we see Peter renewed in Christ, recognizing Him for who He is, the Messiah and the son of the living God! The emotions that Jesus expresses here seem to me to be like a relief. I imagine, Jesus thinknig: At last I have one with this unshakeable faith and unwavering declaration!
May we all be blessed today like Peter with a moment of renewal in mind and spirit in the love of Christ as the son of the living God. Let's continue to pray for peace and for those impacted by the wind and the water from the continued effects and remnants of Hurricane Harvey. As they rebuild, let us keep them in our prayers.
