After his arrival he gave great assistance

It is expected that a record number of people will visit Florida this Memorial Day weekend. AAA expects it to be the busiest in twelve years with Orlando being a top destination for many travelers. I most likely won't be traveling, instead my children are home from college, and when they and our friends come to visit, I prepare my house and make sure there is plenty of food. I clean and make sure there is a plan in place to keep everything running smoothly, so we don't wake up Monday morning missing milk, eggs and coffee.
In the Acts of the Apostles, these people traveled where the Spirit led them. I wonder how much effort they put into expecting food and lodging when they traveled into new and unknown places. It seems to me when I read these passages that the disciples and Paul were preoccupied with making sure their hearts were prepared and that they sought out the chance to talk about and explain the Way of Jesus. They probably relied on others to plan when the next meal was to be served. This weekend, whether we are the planners or the travelers, let us be open to God's grace to assist those around us in whatever way the Spirit prompts us.
