Good and upright is the LORD;
thus he shows sinners the way.
He guides the humble to justice,

I am so used to the manger scene at Christmas time, that I forget the innocence and tenderness of God revealing Himself to us as a newborn baby, helpless and relying on his parents for human support, the nurturing and feeding, and protecting. How good is our God then, that He shows us at such a tender moment an example of perfect humility? As we wait for the upcoming festivities of the Christmas season, I hope we can spend time reflecting on the beauty that is around us, be it in the family moments, or moments we spend in prayer, or admiring the beauty of a night sky, the dawn, or even listening for the sounds of the birds. I think if we appreciate what is right in front of us and all around us in nature's moments, then we can imagine a glimpse of what heaven will be like as we hope in a new day and a new dawn.
Do we know of someone who may be mourning the loss of a loved one this Christmas? Let us pray for their peace and that they somehow find joy knowing with the heart of faith that God is faithful too, and that He will provide comfort and joy in the consolation that one day we will be united again. The thrill of hope backons us as the weary world rejoices.
