Jesus said to his disciples:
"Amen, amen, I say to you, you will weep and mourn,
while the world rejoices;
you will grieve, but your grief will become joy.
John 16:20
Jesus does not promise us a life that will be free from suffering, but Jesus does say that we can live a life with a joy that will stay with us even through the trials and through the changes that life often brings. As we experience the days, nights, months and time goes by, how often do we consider that we all belong, that we all have our place in the family of this world, the natural world that we experience here and now, and the supernatural world that goes on around us all the time, and that we may experience an element of in prayer? If we don't take time to consider our lives in Christ then it is easy for us to be saddened and experience suffering without the joy that is offered to us.
I hope we can find several times today to pray: Jesus has risen as He said! or whatever short prayer you know to remind yourself of the joy that awaits us in Heaven. Yes we will most likley experience discomfort today, but we can be still take comfort knowing the peace and joy that only comes from Christ is ours to take.
