Jesus said to his disciples:
"Do not let your hearts be troubled.
You have faith in God; have faith also in me.
In my Father's house there are many dwelling places.
John 14:1-2
What will the Father's house look like? Will it have a football field, or a golf course, an ice rink or a beach with a beautiful sunrise or sunset? Hmmmm, those are all earthly pleasures that we enjoy now, so I think that heaven will be about a billion times better than what we imagine to be "near perfect" here.
My heart gets easily troubled by worries about this or that, or when I think of the future for my children and their children. This is not what I have learned as a follower of Jesus. He speaks clearly here with such inclusive language that I feel not only comforted, but reassured that God is in control and on board and I can let Him lead me to whatever this day brings, not being overwhelmed by the distractions of what may happen and the what if's that may not happen, yet being prepared and ready for however He calls me.
