New Hope

By Elle
In the news this week is the new Catholic Church established in Sandino, Cuba, where the faithful have been worshiping in their homes.

As they traveled from city to city,
they handed on to the people for observance the decisions
reached by the Apostles and presbyters in Jerusalem.
Day after day the churches grew stronger in faith
and increased in number.

Acts 16:4-5

In the news this week is the new Catholic Church established in Sandino, Cuba, where the faithful have been worshiping in their homes.  Although the first Masses are not planned until January, the building is almost complete and then the altar and pews will be installed in the next months.  Show exciting for the people there, and it has been entirely funded by the parishioners of St Lawrence parish in Tampa.

Regardless of your denomination, I hope we can all rejoice together in the building of Christ's new churches in the 21st century! It is a testament to the truth of God's revelation in scripture and to the love of Jesus that even after thousands of years and so many generations, we can still be thrilled to build His Kingdom here on earth.  Also today, is the ordination of Xavi Castro, and after intervewing his father and going over the childhood stories of the family, it fills me with hope, not as a pleasant adjective, but hope as a concrete term that is essential to a strong unified faith.
