"Rather, living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ"
Ephesians 4:15
Today's readings have some very hard truths in them. In the Gospel, Jesus shares stories about the judgment that will be brought to the unrepentant. In Ephesians, Paul warns the Church not to be fooled by those who would lure them away from the teachings of Christ. In the middle of all that is this phrase "living the truth in love". The truth is not an easy thing to find. When you do find it, sometimes it's hard to accept.
Christ came to show us not only the truth of who God is, but also the love that the Father has for each of us. So much love that He gave His own Son for the forgiveness of our sins. Today, let's live the truth of forgiveness in our lives.
Whom do I need to show the love of Christ to today?
Lord, help me to become more like Christ today.
