Memorial Day

By Davis
Let us take time today to remember those who have given their life in service to our country.

1 Peter 1:3-5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you who by the power of God are safeguarded through faith, to a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the final time.

Let us take time today to remember those who have given their life in service to our country. Pray that they know the goodness of Christ and His salvation. Have a blessed Memorial Day.

Memorial Day

By Davis
This is probably my favorite verse in the bible...

John 16:33

"I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world."

Usually I write a the monday reflection. But today is Memorial Day and we have the day off. So instead I will share two short things.

  1. This is probably my favorite verse in the bible. I think it is especially appropriate as we remember those we have lost in battle.

  2. I am extremely proud of our armed service men and women. My father served in the United States Army and was deployed in Viet Nam. I am fortunate that he came home. Many others do not share that same fortune. Because of his military service I have the privilege of being a member of USAA. They are more than an insurance company, they are like family to me. Here is how they honor our fallen souders.

Today I will say an extra prayer for all who have given their life in sacrifice for others.
