Matthew 16:16
Simon Peter said in reply,
"You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
The Church celebrates the papacy on this day with the feast called the Chair of St Peter. This week Pope Francis is meeting with leaders in the Catholic Church about a topic that is particularly difficult for me to understand, much less have discussions about. This is certainly the first meeting of its kind, as Pope Francis seeks solidairty. Pope Francis has in his plan to reform the Church, more of these kinds of discussions.* The pope has written, 'If one member suffers, all the members suffer together' (1 Cor 12:26) as the theme of this week. We can continue to pray for the Pope in his commitments to protect minors that these issues will be taken on clearly and effectively and with God's blessings.
