Then will the eyes of the blind be opened,
the ears of the deaf be cleared;
Isaiah 35:6A
Have you ever had a conversation with someone and they talked at the same time so that neither of you really heard the other person? I wonder if that happens in prayer when we talk and talk and do not spend any time listening for the whisper of the Holy Spirit. Thank God.. that He knows our needs and understands those times we need to simply pray in "talk at you" form: "God I need this, or God please change that.."
Let's not forget there are other types of prayer. This time of holiday preparations and expectations, it's important we make a time to practice listening for the breath of God to whisper to us that everything will be ok if we but trust in Him. His love for us is unwavering, right here and now, just as we are. We can pray that our eyes be opened and our ears be cleared of the extemperaneous noise so that we can hear and see that He loves us.
