In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets;
in these last days, he has spoken to us through the Son.
Heb 1:1-2
With all the hullabaloo happening, there is a need for leadership and guidance, or it becomesmore likely we will look in the wrong places or can be misled when we try to make sense of what to expect. It is difficult when so many people have so many opinions to be able to discern what is best for everyone, and what are the wisest choices to make regarding our safekeeping and quality of life.
People in the time of Jesus also were also faced with difficult choices. They were often forced to make what would become life or death choices in order to provide for their families and extended community. They also looked to leaders and prophets, people who could foresee upcoming possibilities if not upcoming events , for guidance.
Paul reminds us that we already have the words of Jesus, the Son of God, as our guidance and his words can be our Light in times of darkness and when we are faced with difficult decisions. Let us not be misled and may we continue to pray for peace in our homes, communities, cities, and country.
