If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above,

Happy Easter! Christ has risen as he said, Alleluia!
I took a walk in a park, and I was so impressed by the number of different birds, I tried to guess which bird was making which sound. That meant I was looking up into the trees. When I whistled to imitate a bird call, the puppy that I was walking spun circles around me, looked up at me, and basically dog laughed at me. It is a wonder I didn't walk into a tree. With the leash, she guided me past the obstacles of the trees, and I enjoyed letting her lead me for a time.
When we celebrate the Risen Christ today, let's try to look up into the sky, the ceiling of your church, through a window, or even into a tree, and think about the glory and majesty of a God who is Love, with Christ and the Holy Spirit (like the wind). Release those roots, the binding worries and anxieties for a little while, and let God's love flow through you and accept his presence. Listen for the music around you, if it's a song or a bird's call, and try to see beyond the looming "trees" in your life, to the open skies above.
