Hebrews 9:24
For Christ did not enter into a sanctuary made by hands, a copy of the true one, but heaven itself, that he might now appear before God on our behalf.
"Mom, Dave broke the lamp and he wanted me to tell you because he knows you will be mad." If you have siblings you are probably familiar with a phrase like this. I have a brother and a sister, we were forever getting into some kind of trouble. Now imagine that next thing your sibling said to your parent was "Punish me not him". It's pretty mind blowing! But that is exactly what Jesus did for you and me. Before Jesus the only way we could seek forgiveness was to send our sibling, in this case the priest, into a room with God one day a year to beg on our behalf. But Jesus not only advocates for us, he took our place. He took the punishment we deserve once and for all. I love the new song from Hawk Nelson "Live Like You're Loved". How much different would our everyday life be if we remembered to do that one simple thing. After all, Jesus loved us enough to take our punishment and plead with God for us in heaven itself.
