He spoke to them another parable. "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened."
Last month I wrote a reflection on how little things can add up to have a negative effect on our lives. But when those little things are positive the effect is entirely different. We don't think much about it today but yeast is a very powerful little thing. It only takes a small amount to make bread expand two or three times its original size. In the parable before this Jesus talks about the small size of a mustard seed not stopping it from becoming a large bush where birds choose to make their home. Later on in the Gospels, Jesus tells us that even the smallest amount of faith can move mountains. All the little blessings God sends our way allow us to grow in faith. With that faith comes great power to make a difference in the world. How can you allow the little things to grow in your life today?
