"But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is alive because of righteousness"
Romans 8:9-10
A friend asked me at what point the soul leaves the body when a person dies. As Catholics we believe that the soul is separated from the body at the moment of death and and then is immediately judged by God. I wonder if I were to be judged right here and right now, what God would say. This time of year is the time to examine our consciences and decide what needs to be changed in order that we see a more perfect picture of God's love for us. What is it that limits our vision of God?
As we enter Holy Week beginning with next Sunday, Palm Sunday, I hope I can maintain my Lenten commitments and truly say "Amen". From today's Gospel: "If one walks during the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if one walks at night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him." (Jn 11)
