The nights have been dark and cold, and one of my sons is training for the Gasparilla run ..

The people who sit in darkness have seen a great light,
on those dwelling in a land overshadowed by death
light has arisen.
The nights have been dark and cold, and one of my sons is training for the Gasparilla run that is in a few weeks in Tampa. He, along with lots of other people, jog along in the early morning or at dusk and prepare for the run so they will finish strongly. He tells me how quickly it gets dark, and I see how dark the monrings are because I enjoy watching the sunrise as it peeks up over the horizon. This time of year it casts a pinkish hue in the sky.
I hope this new year will bring a new life for us, as we look for ways to cast off the past, and set our eyes on what is ahead of us. Let the Light of Christ arise in your hearts!
