When preparing to meet any challenge, it's always helpful to have your goal in mind beforehand. This makes the hardships involved in meeting it easier.

2 Timothy 1:8

So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the gospel with the strength that comes from God.

 

When preparing to meet any challenge, it's always helpful to have your goal in mind beforehand. This makes the hardships involved in meeting it easier. Here in Paul's letter to Timothy, he offers some encouragement in the midst of the the suffering he's enduring for the gospel. Notice he also reminds him of the source of His strength, God. The source of his strength is also the goal. In the struggles we face, especially the ones we bear in living out our faith, God is always there. You could also say he is the "point" behind the most important things that we do in our lives. Let that knowledge comfort you today and never neglect to call on his name for guidance not only when the road gets difficult but always.
