Where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more
For the past three years on October 24th, we've come together as a faith community on the radio to pray for our police officers and now all of our first responders and their families. One day isn't enough, but it's something.
Even if you're not trying to pay attention to the news, you know that there are a lot of bad things going on locally, nationally and internationally. Is there more crime and evil than before or are we just more aware of it? It's also easy to hear about the good that's happening in the world and to take part in it. Before the advent of social media and the immediacy of information in our hands, we wouldn't have known about a lot of the good people, good deeds and love that is being exchanged every day. Look at the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge or Movember. Never would've happened without social media.
And at the same time, there are men and women who are being vessels of God's grace and always have, regardless of the attention they get. They have committed to it, day in and day out. So thank you to our police officers, sheriff's deputies, fire fighters, EMTs and 911 communicators. Thank you for being part of the good in our world, before it could go viral. Thank you for reminding us that we are called to more, that we seek justice, love heroes and that we believe that good can and will prevail. And keep up the good work.
