Keep yourselves in the love of God
and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ

Summer time is here and tis the season for long days and beautiful sunsets! It can also be a time where as Christians, we may feel like taking a break from our charity and church going, but wait just a minute! The areas of our lives that we need a break from, should not include volunteering somewhere or practicing good stewardship, and most certainly we can make time out for going to church, even if we are traveling. Often the most remembered moments are made when families traveling and include attending church. So let us keep ourselves in the love of God by being good stewards, as the scripture says and wait for the mercy of Jesus, but let's actively wait!
Here are some quick summer tips for those rainy days or too hot summer afternoons:
1. collect stuffed animals from family and neighbors, write messages tied onto them and give them to a hospital or police dept to use to hepl comfort children
2. donate to a food pantry, as they often run low during the summer
3. donate blood
4. volunteer at a community cleanup site
These are just a few ways we can promote charity and love for neighbor in our communites during the lazy hazy days of summer.
