Abby and Fernando shared a story on the morning show the other day from Jon Acuff that really stood out to me. He shared a story of his daughter asking her teachers permission to use her coffee pod machine. Most adults would look at a situation like that and think "that teacher will never give me permission to make coffee in the middle of class". But his daughter's attitude was that if she didn't ask it was a definite no. So she went for broke and asked away. How often have we given up before we even tried something because we thought it would never happen?
In today's gospel the blind beggar went for broke. He didn't stop to wonder what would happen if Jesus said no. He didn't even stop when all the people around him tried to make him leave Jesus alone. His reward for asking for healing was more than just physical healing. Jesus not only restored his sight but gave him spiritual healing as well. So the next time you are too worried about what the answer may be when you ask God for something just go for it. See what kind of healing God will bring you for your persistance.
