One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.
As we go into July and August we will be reminded to keep a hurricane supply kit ready. If we lose electricity, it does not take me very long to wonder about the food in my freezer. How long will it last, and do I have a cooler large enough to store it so I can plan how best to prepare the food that I do have? It is something I wonder about, that is, how quickly we can switch gears from a normal every day life to thinking about the basic necessities when a weather event happens and we only have a few days to prepare.
God tells us we only need to turn to Him and rely on Him to give us the wisdom to plan ahead for these kind of events and recognize that we can be people of patience and grace rather than people who panic when faced with difficult or unexpected events. Food is important to all of us, I only have to watch my young adult children at mealtime to realize that, but prayer time and planning ahead is also very important so we can act with grace and wisdom.
