Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.

My favorite little GIF on the socials lately is of a toddler trying to put tennis balls back in the can. He has the can under one arm, picks up a ball and puts it in. When he leans over to pick up the next ball and the first one falls out. In classic internet fashion this cycle of picking up balls and leaning over only to have them fall out again continues infinitely. That's a perfect picture of us when we try to get spiritual fulfilment from places other than Christ. We may look to drugs, alcohol, relationships or even binge Netflix in search of something that will fill the void. But ultimately nothing satisfies us, that tennis ball can keeps emptying itself out. As we continue to celebrate Easter remember that only Christ can fill that void permanently.
