As he passed by, he saw Levi, son of Alphaeus,
sitting at the customs post.
Jesus said to him, "Follow me."
And he got up and followed Jesus.
There is a youth minister from the Tampa area who took a group of young people to Wahington DC for the March For Life which was yesterday. Next week he is going to Panama for the World Youth Day activities and he is planning to call into the Kid's Kingdom next Saturday to let us all know what is happening there as the WYD events will wrap up next weekend.
Talk about following Jesus! I suspect many of us would say: "What a life this guy has!" But let's not forget that these pilgrimages require lots of prayer, lots of planning and lots of stamina. Let's pray for all the pilgrims going to Panama this week, keeping in mind this is also a week to celebrate what unites us all as Christians. We can include in our prayers all people everywhere who are called to journey onward and make spiritual pilgrimages.
