Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of God:
"This is the time of fulfillment.
The kingdom of God is at hand.
Repent, and believe in the gospel."
Mark 1:15
Dark times are here indeed some may say. We then have three choices it seems to me. We can avoid as if we are "sticking are heads in the sand", we can obsess, as in check our news feeds constantly, and then that little bit of news sends us into an anxious ball of emotion, or we can pray and live in the moment. What is that, living in the moment? It is when we are aware of our surroundings and not preoccupied with our phones. It is when we take a walk and engage with those around us, even just to acknowledge their presence with a nod of the head or "good day". Living in the moment can mean asking for a blessing for those we pray for, and even for our communities and cities.
Let's believe that we can make a difference by simply repenting of misdeeds, making peace, and moving on with the Spirit in our lives, even if it seems as if Jesus is silently among us right now. He who is always faithful will remain faithful always. Let us strive to be faithful too, even when we are tested by doubt, fear, and maybe anger at the malice and injustice that exists in the world today.
