The centurion said in reply,
"Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof;
only say the word and my servant will be healed.

Centurions in the time of Jesus were chosen because of their size, their strength, their stamina and their discipline. This man had the compassion to go to great lengths to find a remedy for his suffering servant. I wonder if he was afraid to get near Jesus and ask such a question, or if he was blessed with such conviction that was clearly strengthened by his great faith.
Fear and great faith cannot be lived simultaneously. Fear can be based on the lack of a solid faith, or even can stem from unbelief. Faith gives us that assurance that we are not alone in our sufferings and trials and it takes time to develop. So keep the faith and not the fear, think of the centurion today, and take time to silence your self (and your cells) to listen for God to give you a sign of His loving presence today.
