Let what you heard from the beginning remain in you. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, then you will remain in the Son and in the Father.

Have you ever tried to let go of a belief you have held since childhood? It's not an easy thing to do! I think that may be a little of what Jesus was thinking about when he told us to have faith like a child. Here John is encouraging us to stay away from liars and people who would entice us away from Jesus. No matter what the world throws at you remember what you learned about God and Jesus from the very beginning. That child like faith will always help you see the truth!
