So they ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin,
and conferred with one another, saying,
"What are we to do with these men?
Everyone living in Jerusalem knows that a remarkable sign
was done through them, and we cannot deny it.
Acts 4:14-15
Every Easter season, I read the Acts of the Apostles because it reminds me how by following Jesus, by totally committting themselves to Jesus, the lives of some fairly ordinary men and women were changed in a magnanimous way! It was the Holy Spirit working through a few brave souls that resulted in you and me today rereading their adventures and wondering about them.
Let us pray for our missionaries today, and include those who go beyond the ordianry to let the Spirit lead them and as they lead extraordinary lives, do not forget that you and I are also called to begin to let Jesus lead us, guided by the Holy Spirit, to a deeper understanding of who God the Father calls us to be.
