Do you hear what I hear? That line is from a Christmas carol that is one of my favorites. How often do we listen to someone when we ask them how they are doing? I realized at some point how often I talk at people rather than talk to them. My mind can be racing from one thought to the next, as I talk with someone casually. Or I've been that person that is trying to tell someone I love, like my children, something I think is vital to them, and they look at me blankly or are even a little cross that I have interrupted them.
I am thinking this is how Jesus felt when He spoke to crowds, people He loved even with His Life, and they looked at him blankly, or even with anger, because they either couldn't comprehend what He spoke of, or wouldn't accept His words. Blessed are those of us who hear the words of God in our daily lives and strive to guard those words keeping them in our hearts! Through our faith in Jesus, may His words always be our source of strength and may we never turn away from Him.
