Digging Deep

By Elle
Jesus continues and mentions the mustard seed, the smallest of seeds, and that if faith is even that small, we can still move mountains.

Then the disciples approached Jesus in private and said,
"Why could we not drive it out?"
He said to them, "Because of your little faith.

Matthew 17: 19-20

Jesus continues and mentions the mustard seed, the smallest of seeds, and that if faith is even that small, we can still move mountains.  We don't have mountains in Florida, so I like to think of those big majestic oaks.  Trees that are so large, and hundreds of years old, that they for me represent a permanence and nature on a larger scale.  When our loved ones suffer, we can have moments of doubt and it is in these moments that we need to dig deep and find our spiritual roots so that we can sit in God's presence and soak in the graces He has for us.  Is it possible then for us to be a witness to the redeeming and sanctifying love of Jesus?  I think so, but we can only find the peace we need to trust in God, by actively asking God for those graces.  As we become more aware of His Holy Presence in our lives, then we gain that peace, knowing that we are in the right place.  It is as if we are protected, not from life's circumstances, but no one can rob us of the peace that comes from God.  Even when we face pressures of job, family, we find rest in His Peace, and find love that is beyond our human understanding.
