Live as children of light, for light produces every kind of goodness and righteousness and truth.
Ephesians 5:9
How about this time change? With the mornings an hour darker than just a couple of weeks ago, many of us who like to go out in the early morning have to walk, jog or ride in the darkness now in order to keep the same schedule. It can be dangerous to be a pedestrian or cyclist in the dark if drivers are not paying close attention. So what do we do? We wear lights and reflective gear! I saw a person walking the other morning very early all lit up like a Christmas tree! He could not be missed that's for sure.
If we walk as children of light and walk in the way Jesus teaches us we will be freed from the darkness that can prevent us from "seeing" the needs of those around us. If we think of wearing spiritual reflective gear, we can reflect the "light" of God's love for others to see. As the sunrise lights up the darkness of night and makes the roads more clear for pedestrians and cyclists, we can imagine God's Son rising that conquered sin and death and makes our walk as Christians more clear. Check the second reading from the Mass today and let's light up our world wherever we are!.
