Celebrating Hope

By Davis
We want to make sure we remember that Easter is not just one day...

Acts 2: 23-24

This man, delivered up by the set plan and foreknowledge of God, you killed, using lawless men to crucify him. But God raised him up, releasing him from the throes of death, because it was impossible for him to be held by it.

This is the first Easter Abby and I celebrated as a married couple. We are starting new traditions and making new family memories. This year we want to make sure we remember that Easter is not just one day. It is a season that lasts 50 days! The Church will be celebrating Easter for the next 8 Sunday's. Abby and I are working to carry that celebration into our home every day through the entirety of the Easter season. (Shameless plug, Abby has already began posting Easter resources on her Facebook Page.)

In our first reading today Peter reminds the people that they are responsible for the death of Jesus. That responsibility rests firmly on our shoulders. That is what we spent the last 40 days of Lent repenting of. But now God has beaten death. Salvation is here for those who condemned Jesus. That's you, me and everyone we meet. So for the next 50 days let's find ways to celebrate that victory! Let's remember the Grace that is being poured into us. Let's allow that grace to overflow into those around us. Today and everyday we are an Easter people! Jesus Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
