And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your household will be saved." Acts 16:31
Wouldn't it be convenient to get salvation in bulk? As long as one person in your family believes, everybody is covered! Alas, that is not the case. But hang on a minute, in today's story from Acts, Paul and Silas tell the jailer that if he believes, he AND his household will be saved. But you have to read on. The jailer brings Paul and Silas back to his home and that's where they share about Jesus.
If you have someone in your family who doesn't believe, don't let this trouble you. It's just affirming what your heart already knows; their conversion is not your responsibility. Your responsibility is to love them so that your life is a witness and an open window to the light of Christ. When we welcome Jesus to make a permanent home in our hearts, we can't help but invite others to encounter Him as well.
Lord Jesus, you know how much it hurts when someone we love doesn't believe. Help me reflect your love in order to welcome my household into the body of Christ.
