Bound By Time

By Elle
What if we limit ourselves to our own preconceived notion of "proper hours"?

Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span?
Why are you anxious about clothes?
Learn from the way the wild flowers grow.

Matt 6:27-28

What if we limit ourselves to our own preconceived notion of "proper hours"? Don't get me wrong, I am not "anti-new tech" but how many reminders do we really need of something that we have scheduled or should do in the next hour or afternoon?  My calendar sends me reminders via phone and on my computer 30 minutes before an event, or my map app will remind me: leave now to avoid the traffic. There's even an app that reminds you to drink a cup of water throughout the day.

God is timeless.  I wonder if we cut Him out of a day by overscheduling, or thinking we have that hour on Sunday for time with God, so let's get to all the other business now.  God is, was, and always will be, and we can barely handle a 24 hour segments without our constant scheduler on hand.  Let's not be so time bound today, and not be a slave to our schedule.  If we see an opportunity to pray, let's take it!  Day or night! And sure, we can add to drink a cup of water then also, and thank God for all that we have.
